Where we work
Terres des Hommes Germany started its work in Southeast Asia in 1967. With only 40 people in its team, the organization's first actions were rescue missions for war-injured children in Vietnam.
Southeast Asia (SEA) is a region that is composed of 11 countries. Of the 11, we are now working in seven (7) SEA countries, namely: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. SEA is geographically divided into two sub-regions: the mainland and the maritime countries.
Our Regional Coordination Office is located in Bangkok, Thailand.
The SEA countries we work in are State Parties to numerous human rights instruments, including the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child (UN CRC). At the regional level, we work with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to push forward important Declarations and develop guidelines and plans that promotes children's rights.
